Safer construction sites with touch-free access control
More than 6,000 thefts on construction sites are reported every year. The total value of the stolen goods can reach up to 1.5 million SEK annually. This means that insurance premiums are raised. It also means additional costs for downtime and extra work associated with the break-in. There are problems particularly in centrally located building sites when unauthorized individuals enter the site, which causes things such as security risks and pollution.
One way to keep control over which individuals are on a construction site is to always keep the site locked and provide employees with an RFID badge for entry and exit. Visitors and suppliers also receive an RFID card for entry onto the building site. Visitors directly contact "their" contact person who can then electronically open the gate or barrier.

- Anti-passback features and appointed time for opening can be chosen for every gate.
- The following are registered in the log file continually: time, tag, group, person, company, entry or exit, and denied entry.
- A one-meter reading distance means that visitors just have to hold up the tag to their side window when they pass the gate reader.
- Work vehicles are outfitted with labels with a reading distance of two meters.
- In ByggTrac, all administration and access control is taken care of.
- Every RFID card can be linked to one or more groups, such as electricians, plumbers, builders, trash collectors, etc.
- Individuals in every group are also linked to their respective company.
- Information can be managed centrally at the construction company’s network via the web interface.
The company receives usable visitor statistics for every building site for certain time intervals, gates, people, groups and companies.
TracTechnology has delivered ByggTrac to Skanska AB for an ongoing renovation project in downtown Stockholm.
TracTechnology delivers complete access control systems for construction and building sites. We deliver gates and booms for entry and exit control at building sites, RFID readers with long reading distance, key ring tags and touch-free cards. The ByggTrac access control system is installed in a multi-user environment.
The basic functions of the ByggTrac system also work for paid parking and entry control at locations such as recycling stations, camping sites, and marinas.
