GateTrac
Entry control system for recycling centers and sorting stations
Every municipality administers one or more recycling centers, where local residents are able to leave rubbish. Some residents of neighboring municipalities also use a recycling center other than their own, which can lead to a large increase in waste. At the same time, waste management in the neighboring municipalities is reduced in terms of the number of waste management facilities.
One way to get control over and hopefully reduce growth in waste management costs is to allocate an RFID to every real estate/property that pays for trash collection and thereby allow them access to waste management facilities. This also allows the municipality to steer residents’ waste management to a particular facility depending upon where they live, so that the workload is more evenly spread across facilities.
Companies can be offered RFID cards for access to recycling centers and payment can be invoiced or pre-paid for a number of dumps. Subscribers can be divided into different customer groups (max 99) – real estate properties, small or large enterprises, and the frequency of collections for every group can be determined.

We deliver total solution packages for access control systems for recycling centers
We install systems, software, readers, RFID cards and entry and exit gates; RFID card readers with cases protected from weather and vandalism are included in the delivery.
- The card reader is placed in front of the entry gate with a reading distance
of 60 cm or 90 cm, with a standard ISO card, or around 90 cm or 150 cm for
cards with extra large coils, depending upon which reader is chosen.
- The display is mounted to the reader and presents text information.
- Every RFID card is connected to a property or company and upon reading,
the number of remaining collections can be checked in the computer database.
- The number of can collections, for example, be set at 12 times/year and
is included in the fee for trash collection. If the number of collections
is expired, the card shows an additional visit, which is invoiced at a given
price, alternatively for an extra fee that purchases a certain number of
collections and makes the card valid.
- The opening hours for the recycling center can be programmed according
to day of the week and facility.
- The number of vehicles in the recycling center can be limited if the space does not allow more than X vehicles.
Statistics
The municipality can keep track of statistics about the use of every waste treatment facility. The following statistics are included in our offer:
- The number of visitors at every facility per day (diagram)
- The number of every visitor at every facility per year
- The number of visitors per customer category (99 different classes can be chosen)
- What time visitors come
- How many visits a particular subscriber makes per year
- The statistics are presented in Excel.
The system’s effects

RFID-reader with display
Monitoring reduces the number of times an average household leaves its rubbish and thereby reduces the vehicular traffic in the municipality, which is good both for the environment as well as the economy. With our system, companies can be offered cards and thereby pay for waste from their transports. One positive effect that is worth mentioning is that the inhabitants of the municipality can avoid paying the trash collection fee, since just those who pay will have a valid entry card to the municipalities waste facilities. This also applies to non-residents.
